Peter Gissing has practised as a Pharmacist for 34 years. He was, until recently an active proprietor of two large Community Pharmacies in Wagga Wagga NSW.
Peter’s appointments include:
  1. •Branch Committee Member of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (NSW Branch) and chaired its Marketing Services Sub-Committee
  2. •Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia
  3. •Fellow of the Australian College of Pharmacy Practice and Management
  4. •Accredited Consultant Pharmacist
  5. •Member of the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists
  6. •Former Director of Allied Master Chemists of Australia (AMCAL) Ltd and has had specific responsibility for representing AMCAL Pharmacists in Queensland, Tasmania and NSW
  7. •He has participated in a number of advisory and focus groups for Banner Groups, the Pharmacy Guild, the Pharmaceutical Society, Pharmacy distributors and others
  8. •Peter has a strong interest in Charles Sturt University and particularly its Pharmacy Degree Programme
  9. •Senior Associate of the Faculty of Health Studies at CSU
  10. •Chair of the Charles Sturt Pharmacy Foundation and a member of the Charles Sturt Riverina Foundation
  11. •Life Member of the Sydney University Pharmacy Practice Foundation
Over the years Peter's pharmacies and staff have received a number of industry awards for innovation and excellence. He has often been an early innovator of Pharmacy professional and marketing initiatives. He pioneered the employment of allied health professionals in his Pharmacies including:
  1. •Physiotherapists
  2. •Occupational Therapists
  3. •Dieticians
  4. •Nurses
Peter has also been active in his own regional community and has actively led or participated in a variety organisations, often but not exclusively, related to Pharmacy and broader health issues. He has served as Pharmacy Guild Zone President and has been actively involved in arranging continuing education programmes particularly for rural Pharmacists.
