John Daffey graduated from the Victorian College of Pharmacy in 1963. His entire career has been in Community Pharmacy culminating in the sale of his business in the western suburbs of Melbourne in 2002. He was a director of the Chemmart group for many of its formative years, a former Victorian President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and the National President of PSA in 2000 and 2001 during the difficult challenges of the COAG reviews into ownership and scheduling. Daffey is also a former member of the Australian Community Pharmacy Authority (ACPA). This combined with his membership of the successful negotiating teams for the third and fourth Guild Government Agreements has resulted in an in-depth knowledge of the workings of the Agreement and in particular having been at the coal face of the negotiations, the intricacies of the Location Rules.
